All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) organizes National Level Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) twice during a year for select the suitable students for admission in management programmes of top B-schools approved by AICTE.

Student will get admission through central counseling and basic of CMAT merit list / Cut off, So It is evident that batter Marks/scores in the CMAT 2015 exam will offer to get admission in the  top university and private B schools of India. CMAT 2015-15 – Scoring & Ranking Methodology 

CMAT Feb 2015-15 computer based test result will be displayed with Raw Scores and Rank in the All India merit list. Read Raw Score And Ranking Details Below:

CMAT Raw Score:

CMAT Raw Score will be calculated as below pattern:

• 4 Marks will be added for each correct answer
• 1 Mark will be deducted for each wrong answer as negative marking
•  No marks will be added for blank answer
• This scoring pattern ensures that what candidate know, while negative marking marks for inappropriate random answer guessing.
• The range of scores will be -100 to 400 Marks. Raw scores will be provided for each section.

CMAT Ranking

1. CMAT National merit ranking will be estimated on the basis of raw scores. If in some case raw scores are same for more than one candidate, then ranking will be based on sectional scores which will considered in below order:

- Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation

- Logical Reasoning

- Language Comprehension

- General Awareness

2. If more than one candidate get same ranking as per the above order then same Rank will be assigned to all of them but they will be displayed their names as sorting alphabetic format.

3. Candidates who have same Rank, their Ranking will be extended by the number of additional students. Like if three candidates have 21st Rank, Then subsequent candidate’s Rank will be 24th. 

4. Admission authorities and institutions will be free to take their own decision at admission time as refer to a particular section.

5. CMAT National merit list will be provided indicating Roll Number, Raw Scores and the Rank.

6. CMAT score cards will available indicating section wise marks scored, total marks scored and Rank in the All India merit list.

Methods of Converting CMAT scores into percentile

 1. The different B-Schools and institutes use their own method for select the student with CMAT scores.

2. Some Institutes or B schools don’t have any particular cut off marks. They give importance according to proportion to score obtained by candidate.

3. Some Institutes or B schools provide no cut-off but give importance in selection criteria to the Entrance Examination.

4. Few Institutes or B schools use a cut-off range of CMAT like between 55% – 85% (percentile) which depend upon application strength for the academic year 2015-15.

5. Few B schools use percentiles method for selection. They convert the scores into percentiles by using the following formula.

CMAT Rank of the Candidates = A

Total Candidates giving CMAT = B

Percentile Formula:   B – A * 100 = Percentile
